Nexion Announces Member Awards for Top Agents During CoNexion 2017

Member awards presented in New Orleans represented a spectrum of honors, from sales to member engagement

New Orleans, LA (September 19, 2017) – Nexion, the travel industry’s premier host agency, announced the recipients of its annual awards on Saturday, September 16, and Tuesday, September 19. The awards were given in conjunction with CoNexion, the annual member conference held from September 16-19, 2017, at the Hilton Riverside New Orleans in New Orleans, Louisiana. Nexion member agents were honored with the following awards:

• Circle of Excellence
• MillionAir
• Top Luxury Sales
• Top Nexion Cruise Group Seller
• Top SNAP! Air Sales
• Ambassador
• Rising Star
• Best Marketing Idea
• Nexion Townie of the Year

“Nexion is successful due to its members’ success,” said Jackie Friedman, CTC, CTIE, President of Nexion. “Success comes in so many different forms, whether it is sales or helping other members in their businesses. That’s why it is truly an honor to recognize our members with these prestigious awards. As we gather together at CoNexion, it is sincerely inspiring to see all that Nexion agents have accomplished in the last year, and will achieve in the coming year.”

The Circle of Excellence and MillionAir awards both recognize Nexion members who have achieved sales targets. MillionAir members are those who personally sold $1 million or more in airline sales from August 1, 2016, to July 31, 2017. The Circle of Excellence recognizes those who achieved high sales and business growth with Nexion’s supplier partners. Both awards were given to record numbers of members: 29 MillionAir and 107 Circle of Excellence winners.

Five Nexion members earned double honors at CoNexion asCircle of Excellence and MillionAir award winners including: Carolyn McDaniel, Diane Earman, Karen Seifer, Steve Lincoln, and Suzy Gustafson. This is a record-setting amount of members with sales large enough to be awarded both Circle of Excellence and MillionAir.

The company acknowledged four other members who were awarded top sales honors in specific categories:

• Top Luxury Sales: Danny Genung and Gina Porter (both also in the Circle of Excellence) were chosen as the members who best exemplify luxury travel, in both sales and expertise.
• Top Nexion Cruise Group: Awarded to the member who books the most into Nexion’s cruise block space. The winner was Tim Larison.
• Top SNAP! Air Sales: Maryanne Fazio was honored as the top seller of airline tickets in SNAP! (Simple Nexion Air Program)

Nexion also handed out various membership awards. These awards were not tied to sales, but given to members who have shown the necessary attributes in each category.

Steve Lincoln was chosen for the 2017 Ambassador Award. An Ambassador is someone who exemplifies what it means to be a Nexion member, in experience, attitude and industry expertise. As a Circle of Excellence and MillionAir honoree, Steve had the distinction of winning three awards at CoNexion, and was this year’s only triple winner.

The Rising Star Award recipient is chosen from Nexion’s newer members. In 2017, Savannah Hill was the winner who showed potential to be among the very best in the travel business. Wendy Schoneberger took Best Marketing Idea for her commitment to growing her business through innovative, well-planned marketing campaigns.

A new award this year was the NexionTown Townie of the Year. NexionTown is the main online hub for Nexion members to join affinity groups, connect with other members and give and receive advice on nearly any business and travel-related questions. The top “Townie” is someone who has enthusiastically used NexionTown, generously shared their knowledge and provided help to fellow members on the platform. The inaugural award winners were Roxanne Gallo and Ria Maratheftis.
