If you want to be a travel agent to get all of the discounts, this is NOT the host to work with. If you want to get your clients the best travel options and get the support to do so, this IS the host for you.

I"ve been with Dugan's since 2004 and have have been, as should be obvious, very happy. There is an excellent support system and staff and the other agents are always happy to jump in and answer questions for suppliers or destinations you don't fully understand.

The commission rate is graduated based on your tenure and with your production. And you do have to produce.

Parts of their booking record keeping are a little tricky to learn but once you've been through it a few times it becomes pretty clear on the steps. Once you've entered the booking information you can be contacted readily if the supplier has any problems and will automatically be paid your commission with no further effort on your part.

Commissions are paid regularly and promptly. If there is a potential for commission recall you won't be paid until the travel has completed. Which is good because it means you don't have to write a check. Commissions are all made by direct deposit so you don't have to worry about lost checks, etc.

There is an annual support fee, which pays for the various parts of the operations, such as the booking record system which is billed per user. In addition there is E&O insurance. But the two put together aren't much, and even less painful once you have commissions coming in.

Overall, I'm happy to have been working for Jennifer for the last 12 years. If I wasn't, I'd be elsewhere.
