Nexion Holds Third Annual Corporate CoNexions Event
Attendees sharpened corporate travel skills, got “behind-the-scenes” look at airline operations
IRVING, TX (June 19, 2017) – Business travel continues to be an important part of many travel professionals’ businesses, and offers excellent opportunities to earn lucrative commissions. To help its members increase domestic and international business travel sales, Nexion, the travel industry’s premier host agency, invited over 20 of its top-performing corporate travel agent members to attend its third annual Corporate CoNexions. The event was made possible in part by a founding sponsorship by Enterprise Holdings, Inc. Held in Chicago from June 9 to 11, Corporate CoNexions participants toured United Airlines’ operations center, ultra-luxury Polaris Club, O’Hare International Airport’s baggage handling center and the control tower, as well as attended workshops and networking events with supplier partners.
“One thing people may not realize is that we have a significant number of Nexion members who focus on corporate travel and want to increase their corporate travel sales. As a host agency, we aspire to deliver the best training opportunities for all of our members, and Corporate CoNexions provides that for these agents,” said Robbi Hamida, Vice President at Nexion. “Throughout the weekend, our top business travel specialists had access to some of the best minds in this field. Based on their feedback, I know this training, and valuable knowledge they gained, will be put to work immediately in their businesses.”
The small size of the group gave attendees the ability to make connections with corporate travel suppliers, and to participate in individual conversations with the suppliers, as well as Nexion’s internal experts. Nexion provided a full day of learning on Saturday, followed by a “cocktail networking” hour, where Corporate CoNexions attendees could spend time one-on-one with supplier partners. As the event was held in Chicago, United Airlines played an important role in the weekend, in addition to providing a leading sponsorship.
“Business travelers are one of our most important customer groups,” said John Katsikas, Global Account Manager at United Airlines. “Corporate CoNexions provides us with a unique opportunity to work Nexion’s members and allows us to ensure that, together, we are providing incredible levels of service and satisfaction to our mutual clients.”
As part of its hosting sponsorship, United Airlines offered Corporate CoNexions attendees:
– An inside look at their operations center to see how United sets flight plans and tracks its planes all over the world.
– A VIP tour of O’Hare International Airport, including the baggage handling center and the control tower.
– Time to explore the new Polaris Club, where the attendees could experience the ultra-luxury atmosphere for business class clients.
– Networking opportunities at its Willis Tower headquarters
“Corporate CoNexions was a very informative weekend,” commented Nexion travel agent member Rita Roarty. “I honestly feel I have true friendship within Nexion and with my fellow corporate agents. The need for Corporate CoNexions is great, and the idea is genius. I appreciate all that Nexion has done for its members selling corporate travel, and I was flattered to be invited. I plan on returning next year!”
