With substantial entrepreneurial experience and no travel agency experience we did an exhaustive study of available hosts. No surprise - not one was perfect. However, Cruise Planners was our final choice primarily due to their affiliation with American Express Travel. Other factors included reputation, business tenure, technology and marketing support. The primary concern we had was the heavy concentration of Florida-based franchisees leading the way to a cruise-focused business model. However, as promised by key management, that focus is finally softening to include a strong commitment to a broad selection of land-based vacation experiences. Cruise Planners is growing in the right direction and so are we. Is it 100% perfect? Absolutely not, and nor was it our expectation. You determine your strengths, you learn who the doers are at corporate and in the supplier network and you make it happen. We have had a reasonable first full year and feel we are on target to be profitable in our second full year.Does this review helpful?
